Why have multiple of the same racquet in your bag?

So, you have probably heard that if you are a competitive player you should have more than one racquet in your bag. It isn’t just that you have more than one racquet but to have more than one of the same frame. But the question is, why should you have them?

This answer really comes down to security. If, during a match you break a string or, God forbid, break a frame, you really want to have a back-up ready to go. But why do you need it to be a copy of the same racquet? The answer is “Consistency”.

When a player plays, they have a certain amount of distance they swing their racquet. This is usually a consistent amount every swing. It is also generally mandated by the racquet and it’s stiffness or flexibility of the racquet.
